Tunnels based on the new Austrian tunnel construction method and TBM (tunnel boring machine) tunnels usually need large volumes of concrete subject to specific requirements. Conventional construction initially requires sprayed concrete for immediate stabilization of the excavated area with defined early strength, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
